Six Warren Hills DECA students advance to State Conference

Warren Hills DECA Students Advance to State Conference

[Washtington, NJ]– Members of the Warren Hills DECA chapter joined 3,500 high school business, finance, hospitality and marketing students at the annual NJ Central East DECA District competition held January 10, 2025 at Kean University. The event included a pre-competition 100-question exam and role-playing activities based on realistic business scenarios the day of. 

The following students received the prestigious invitation to attend the State Career Development Conference at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, NJ in March because of their high performance at the District competition.

Of those who advanced, three students were standouts in their role plays, earning them top 3 spots. Kamryn Barker earned 2nd place, Caiden Pierre-Louis earned 3rd place and Charlotte Gabor earned 2nd place in their respective academic areas. 

As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career-ready when they graduate from high school. More than 350 business professionals evaluated the members’ performance in the format of role-plays, case studies and prepared presentations.
