Warren Hills DECA recognized for Thrive Level Chapter Campaigns

[Washington, NJ] – Warren Hills DECA was among 1,100 chapters that achieved Thrive Level recognition during the 2024-2025 school year and will be commended at DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held April 26-29, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.

Each fall, DECA offers four campaigns for chapters to complete as part of their program of leadership for the year. These campaigns are designed to grow membership engagement and build lasting partnerships within the school and local community. Chapters that achieve Thrive Level receive a commemorative pennant, flag and plaque. The chapters also have an opportunity to participate in ICDC. In order to receive Thrive Level recognition, the chapter completed two out of three chapter campaigns, including the community service campaign, ethical leadership campaign, and promotional campaign. Alternatively, the chapter could have participated in the membership campaign, which challenged the chapter to attain two of three goals: recruit 20 professional members, recruit 20 alumni members or increase student membership by 20 more members from the previous school year.

The Warren Hills DECA members who contributed to the Thrive recognition were Ty Appelbaum, Saulo Arce Zamora, Waleed Azzana, Kamryn Barker, Ryan Benbara, Keyli Berzoza-Gallardo, Nyah Brown, Sofia Cassels, Alexander Clemente, Alanis Diaz, Zy’ierra Dozier-James, Danika Elbaum, Charlotte Gabor, Yamiliz Gomez, Roberto Gonzabay, McKenna Hanley, Miley Hanley, Matthew Hardy, Timothy Hatiba, Logan Healy, Cristofer Jimenez, Filip Knezevic, Matthew Kuruc, Arianna Lamb, Machyla Little, Sophia Longa, Nathanyell Lopez, Darryl Lustin, Sean McGrath, Jake Nisivoccia, Fiorella Piedra-Rodriguez, Caiden Pierre-Louis, Rebecca Rush, Dehlia Shamy, Alexis Sisto, Jenna Skwirut, George Vouloumanos, Jonathan West, Brennan Winters, and Hamza Yassir with the assistance of their advisor, Ms. Christina Dock.

The WH DECA members participated in three school outreach activities, 3 community outreach activities and featured 3 success stories of alumni to fulfill the Promotional Campaign. For the  Community Service campaign, students participated in at least one community service activity, had 75% participation, and had to garner publicity for the event.

“As an advisor, I couldn’t be more proud of these students. Not only do they study hard for rigorous academic testing and competitions, they also choose to have a positive impact on our community,” said Ms. Christina Dock, DECA Advisor.
